📌 Type of Contract: International Consultancy Level 1 ➡️ Unit / Division: Programme 📍 Duty Station: Gaza ➡️ Duration: 11 months (renewable) ❗ You are required to fill in all mandatory fields on Workday in English and upload your English CV as an attachment. Your application would be otherwise disqualified. What will you do in this position?
The Gaza Strip presents a unique operating environment for WFP, characterized by large-scale population movements, extreme security and access constraints, unpredictability, and complex partner-led operations. WFP’s focus is currently on maintaining emergency operations and capacities in parallel to scaling diverse programmes and adapting relevant corporate processes, solutions, and capacities.
Since October 2023, WFP has rolled out custom digital IDM solutions such as the self-registration tool (SRA), the verification portal, data assurance tool (DAT), and payment instrument tracking tool (PIT), and adopted corporate solutions (SCOPE) for CBT. The office is currently planning the transition towards corporately endorsed systems such as MDP and SCOPE In-Kind.
WFP Gaza is implementing cash-based assistance as part of emergency and recovery activities, through digital/e-wallet payments, including Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA), Cash for Prevention, and Cash for Work. As markets are progressively operating, cash assistance has become the most adequate transfer modality, and the office is scaling up its CBT assistance across all components.
The incumbent of this role will provide strategic and technical leadership to the CBT/IDM team, ensuring the effective and timely delivery of all CBT/IDM operations in Gaza. Why work with WFP Palestine? For decades, Palestine has been facing a protracted and complex protection and humanitarian crisis. WFP, through our dual mandate in humanitarian and development, provides life-saving food assistance to the most vulnerable and food insecure non-refugee Palestinians. WFP provides logistics support to humanitarian and development partners, allowing them to reach more people faster, and at a lower cost to donors and the environment.
By offering our cash-based transfer platform to the wider humanitarian and development community, coordinating logistics, and developing an inter-agency common feedback mechanism, WFP contributes to wider humanitarian efforts. How can you make a difference?
