Work Location Geneva, Switzerland Expected duration 4-6 months Duties and Responsibilities The intern shall support OHCHR in promoting and protecting the human rights of people on the move, and in advancing a human rights-based approach to migration governance. Daily responsibilities will depend on the Unit's priorities and the individual's qualifications and competencies.
Duties may include, but are not limited to: - Researching and analysing migration and human rights issues, including thematic, regional and policy developments relating to migration and human rights. - Drafting and summarizing reports, briefing notes, background papers, talking points, meeting notes and other substantive materials. - Supporting the preparation of OHCHR inputs to migration-related processes, including Human Rights Council, General Assembly and Global Compact for Migration-related activities. - Preparing for and servicing meetings, consultations, workshops and events, including preparation of documentation and drafting of notes and reports. - Contributing to communication, advocacy, outreach related to migration and human rights. - Assisting with web content, information management and other knowledge-sharing activities. - Performing other related duties as requested by the supervisor Qualifications/special skills Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme in Law, International relations, Political Science, Development or related subject (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme in Law, International relations, Political Science, Development or related subject (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).

However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D.
